Global Game Jam Berlin Banner

At the Global Game Jam, tens of thousands of people create games together over the course of 48 hours. In Berlin, you'll be with 99 other participants doing the same - get together in teams, work on a common theme, and create your digital or analogue game. Global Game Jam is a wonderful opportunity for participants to expand their horizons, challenge themselves, and meet new people. Right away you will start developing a playable game with strangers who share the same passion as you in just two days. At the end you are tired but happy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What should I bring to the event?

A: Please bring your laptop, chargers, and any gaming equipment you might need.

Q: How does digital participation work?

A: You won't be on site, but you'll have access to the Discord. You can either find other digital jammers or support teams on site with tasks.

Q: What about food and drinks?

A: This is a fully catered event. There will be full range of vegan and vegetarian meals and snacks as well as drinks for the weekend.

Q: What if I get tired?

A: Great question! We will have a quiet room where you can lie down and have a nap. Don't forget to bring some sleeping gear though!

Q: Do I need to have game dev experience to participate?

A: Not really - everyone can join in. You will work in a team where you can help out. Or you can do board games if you want. We'll have some materials for that but better also bring your own!
